Day 17: Pittsburgh, PA

Date:  July 25, 2019

What are you doing here?  The blog is over!  It finished yesterday!  I was afraid that perhaps Di wasn't definitive enough in declaring the blog over, so this entry is here to say that yesterday's entry, the now penultimate one, was intended to be the final one.

Thank you, everybody, for coming along with us on this trip.  It means a lot to us to know family and friends have taken the time to follow us on this blog.  Believe me, the riding seems easier knowing we are staying in touch.

Seeing as you are already here, let me present some photographs from today.

After picking up Michelle and Brian from the airport, the first thing we did was go to a farmer's market downtown

The second thing we did was get some coffee at Nicholas Coffee and Tea Co, a 100 year old coffee shop

We went to Primanti Brothers for lunch

Primanti's puts cole slaw and french fries in the sandwich

We went for a walk after lunch and found this fountain

When the fountain subsided, Di decided to walk through it...

and promptly got stuck when the fountain resumed

Walking to Point State Park

The Point State Park Fountain

Crossing the river to get to the Duquesne Incline

The fountain seen from the bridge

The cable car at the Duquesne Incline

The incline of the Duquesne Incline

View from the lookout at the top (cable car descending)

Riders of the over 100 year old Duquesne Incline

We had drinks on a deck overlooking the city

View from an even higher floor of the restaurant

We went to Lidia's restaurant for dinner

Mangia!

Well, that's it for the bonus blog entry.  Thanks for riding along with us and see you next time!

  1. Hey, the blog is over when you return home. That's how it's always been. I need two more days of tales of adventure and pictures of your food! Looks like you guys are doing Pittsburgh right! Primanti brother is definitely a bucket list experience. We are heading to the Newport folk fest tomorrow - we ended up getting last minute tickets this week so Joy and Marc dropped everything to come up and join us.

  2. I was so happy that you continued your blog! There was so much there to see and, of course, we all want to see pictures of your day's visits! And the restaurants, and the breakfasts, lunches, and the dinners! You all seem to enjoy Pittsburgh! Take care!
